2017 CBI Holiday Shopping Charity Event

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

The Holidays are the time for giving, and we at CBI are very serious about helping our local community in every way possible. This was accomplished through our 6th Annual Holiday Shopping Event!

On November 16, 2017 CBI hosted an event that helped everyone get a head start on their holiday shopping. Vendors in attendance were Mary Kay, Young Living Essential Oils, Monat, Norwex, Tastefully Simple and others to mention a few. Admission was free.

Through this event we supported the Women’s Resource Center of Grand Rapids, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Kent County and Flowers from Charlie the Merchant. We encouraged guests attending to bring in gently used suits, gas cards, children’s toys and any cash donation for the three charities we chose to support. We got an outpouring response of donations from many of those who attended, as well as donations from the vendors themselves.

CBI and the Women’s Resource Center of Grand Rapids have a strong working relationship. We have been introduced and hired women through the Women’s Resource Center, whom have worked for CBI for over 2 years and continue to work for us today.

Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Kent County, Vicki Seidl had this to say. “I look forward to the Holiday Shopping Event every year because of the great vendors, great food and great company. This year was even more special because of the generosity of the guests who contributed toys, jewelry, gift cards and backpacks to the Prosecutor’s Office Toy’s for CASA Holiday Event. These items are given to children who are in foster care – children who do not have the same advantages that other children in our community have during the holiday season. Each gift is matched to a specific child by a CASA volunteer who personally knows the child. Many thanks to all who contributed and to all the wonderful people at CBI who schedule this event.”

We thank everyone who made it out and look forward to next years Holiday Shopping Event!
